Why Moonbeam launch is big thing for Polkadot
In December 2021 Moonbeam started the launch process on Polkadot and quickly onboarded highest-performing third-party collators to decentralize block production and help ensure the liveness of the network.
As it was recently announced, on 11th of January Moonbeam will complete the launch process. After full launch, Moonbeam Network will have full functionality for developers and end users, including the ability to transfer funds, participate in the Moonbeam staking system, deploy smart contracts, and claim crowdloan participation rewards. Also after completing the launch process, crowdloan initial rewards will be distributed and 40 day countdown starts for Take Flight event, so tokens will be distributed in February. Moonbeam launch is very important event for the whole PolKusama ecosystem.

2021 was a great year for Moonriver and Moonbeam. Both Moonriver and Moonbeam won crowdloans and got parachain slots on Kusama and Polkadot.
Moonriver with over 205,935 KSM (~$45M USD at crowdloan close, Top 2 result) received from 5,977 contributors worldwide.
Moonbeam won auction with the largest number of contributors and the total DOT raised (Top 1 result). Over 35M+ DOT (~$1.4B USD at crowdloan close) was contributed from 200k+ contributors around the world.
Moreover, in appreciation for the vast community support, the Moonbeam has added 50 million GLMR tokens to the crowdloan reward pool. That brought the total rewards to 150M, or 15% of the genesis token supply, and increases the rewards payout by 50% for all participants.

2. Moonriver is the most active parachain on Kusama
Only three months after launch, Moonriver has reached unprecedented levels of activity and usage. Moonriver now has over 14.5M+ network transactions, 380k+ wallets, 1M+ MOVR locked in collator staking and 3k+ ERC-20 tokens created.
If we compare this statistics to other parachains, numbers without a doubt will show that Moonriver is the most successful parachain on Kusama so far.
3. Moonriver and Moonbeam partners and integrations
Thanks to Complete Ethereum Compatibility, being Innovative & Fast Moving, Robust Tools & Integrations and Access to Native Kusama Assets, Moonbeam & Moonriver ecosystem has bloomed with over 80 integrations this year. Projects were choosing to deploy on the Moonriver smart contract platform as an easy way to reach users and assets in the Kusama ecosystem.
Thanks to it, users can now choose from a multitude of DeFi applications that have chosen to deploy on Moonbeam including AMMs, NFTs projects, DEXes, lending and borrowing applications, staking protocols, and more.
No doubt, that in future all Moonriver’s integrations will be successfully integrated on Moonbeam, which will bring value to the whole Polkadot ecosystem as well.
5. Community
2021 year was a year, when fantastic Moonbeam community was build. Moonbeam ambassador campaign was a great example for other cryptoprojects how to grow, lead and take care of cryptocommunity and as result to get unbelievable support back — turning project to real #PeoplesNetwork and #CommunityFirstNetwork. Moonbeam community has grown thanks to the fantastic support of the MOVRines, developers, ambassadors, ecosystem teams, and more. This year, team of Moonbeam ambassadors already includes over 1,900 people and the number of seniors has reached 62 people, which included 18 language-bases communities worldwide. Every and each Moonbeam ambassador will spread information about Moonbeam and Polkadot to crypto world.
5. No doubt, Moonriver success story … will be repeated with Moonbeam on Polkadot
Moonriver Network had a fantastic 2021 year. Moonriver won Kusama parachain auction, ecosystem has bloomed with many integrations, community has incredibly grown because of fantastic product and successful ambassador campaign and Moonriver became the most successful parachain on Kusama. But looks like that it is only beginning for Moonbeam and Moonriver. Moonbeam community will be only growing, all integrations and partners will soon launch on Moonbeam network, Moonriver users will also move and work with Moonbeam network.
In a few days we will see Moonbeam launch and all above reasons tell me that that launch is not only big win for Moonbeam, but also a win for Polkadot to have Moonbeam as lead parachain in Polkadot ecosystem.
